God, the girls you work with have no brains. My step-dad has long hair, and he's not gay. People can dress any way they want or, if they feel like it, walk into a gay club.

I really know how you feel. My best friend (!!) is toxic. I guess we are pretty much not best friends anymore but the pretence is kept up for some reason. Its bizarre.

maybe you need to have to rush off and visit a sick close relative in hospital the day of the dinner, or otherwise have a prior engagement
How about emailing back saying the email has been down a couple of days, only just read the invite etc, have prior engagement. do you think that might work?

Hmm well I am guilty of "gushin" about Monsieur after a couple of glasses of white wine!!
